The vaginal speculum is a device used to widen the vaginal walls for cervical access and visualization. Invented in 1869, the current design remains vastly unchanged.
For patients: cold, sharp, pinchy, loud, scary, uncomfortable, painful, triggering, and “a car jack for my vagina.”
For clinicians: frustrating, limiting, inadequate, and “the best we’ve got.”
The Revyn Solution redefines the standard of care for gynecological exams by addressing the key challenges faced by both patients and practitioners.
With an innovative and patient-centered design, Revyn’s patent-pending system is positioned to transform the future of cervical healthcare.
As a direct result of speculum use, 600+ patients said:
– 42% delay or avoid care
– 87% experience physical pain
– 79% experience emotional distress
Despite preventability, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer globally among people with cervixes and leads to 350,000 deaths annually.
Eliminates sharp edges and temperature shock, and the entire design can be sterilized to reduce waste.
No pinch points or ratcheting sounds for a more comfortable, stress-free patient experience.
Prevents vaginal wall collapse, eliminating the need for practitioner modifications.
Designed for both right- and left-handed practitioners to maximize comfort and precision.
Provide a more customized fit for all anatomies and minimize patient discomfort during exams.
Our design prioritizes patient comfort while increasing their opportunity for positive health outcomes. By listening directly to patients, we have eliminated the top reasons for anxiety and pain to empower patients to take control of their cervical health.
With its intuitive design and sterilizable components, our solution improves workflow efficiency without additional steps or modifications. Its ambidextrous, ergonomic handle allows for precise control, while the integrated light provides better visualization at all angles without extra attachments.
The reusable nature of our solution reduces waste and cuts down on the costs
associated with single-use products, offering long-term savings and a sustainable option for healthcare facilities. By prioritizing patient comfort, our design encourages more patients—both new and returning—to seek necessary preventative care, improving overall patient engagement and outcomes.
With our focus on comfort, efficiency, and sustainability, Revyn addresses the longstanding need for innovation in gynecological tools. Our solution presents a significant opportunity in the rapidly growing FemTech market. The patent-pending design ensures a strong competitive edge and scalability in diverse healthcare environments.
